I grew up in Canada, but now live in the west of Ireland, with my partner and daughter. My first novel, Finding a Voice, written for young adults, was shortlisted for the inaugural YA Book Prize, won a Literacy Association of Ireland merit award in 2015 and is a White Raven book for 2015/16. I have an eclectic background in education, therapy and social services, which hasn’t helped me one bit in my latest endeavours of small hold farming and running a local newspaper. Plain Jane, my second novel (sort of--if we aren't counting the ones that will never see a bookstop) will be published in April 2016, and I'm now working on a third (all lucky thoughts sent my way are welcome).
I am represented by Svetlana Pironko of Authors Rights Agency. Both Finding a Voice and Plain Jane are published by The O'Brien Press.

I LOVE to meet readers and fellow writers
I love to talk with both readers and writers. Next to a day of writing in my pajamas, talking to a group about books and writing is my favourite thing to do! I will almost always make myself available for an event. I especially love to work with teens and kids--and don't for a moment think the group you have in mind are 'too challenging' for an author visit or workshop, because those are the groups I love most!
